Hamilton finished first at British GP 2020 (Part 2)

Despite being tens of seconds away from rivals, when entering the final stage, the parameters sent to the instructors show that the left front tires of the two W11 are seriously degraded. Despite trying to slow down to hold, Mercedes’ effort failed. Bottas was the first to encounter a disaster and suffered severe consequences.

As soon as he reached round 50 and passed the pit entrance, Bottas’s left front tire was torn open, the W11 was pulled back and was forced to run nearly a full circle to return to the pit. After replacing the new tires, Bottas fell below the top 10.

Verstappen suddenly got second place and creating a distance of nearly 30 seconds with Leclerc’s rear car. The driver immediately returned to the tire changing pit. Red Bull’s rider, therefore, managed to stay safe in the final round. He earned an extra point by setting up the fastest-lap. This thanks to the new set of tires, while retaining the second place.

When Verstappen thought it would focus on keeping the second position because the distance to the first place was more than 30 seconds, Hamilton’s turn broke the tire. The incident in the last round caused the British driver to decelerate quickly.

The distance between Hamilton and Verstappen is constantly narrowing. But despite the heart-stopping moments, the time left is too little for Red Bull riders to reverse the situation.

When the finish, Hamilton still about 6 seconds ahead of the opponent. This is the third consecutive victory in the season of defending champion in the world.

The seventh victory in Hamilton’s F1 career on the track of Silverstone forte helped the British driver outrun his teammate and Bottas’ most dangerous opponent by 30 points. Despite the effort in the final round, the Finnish driver still could not enter the top 10, so he left the British Grand Prix empty-handed.

The individual unlucky Bottas brings little joy to the Ferrari racing team. Leclerc got into the top three thanks to a Mercedes incident. Sebastian Vettel also made it into the top 10 and got another consolation point, after struggling through the competition with Lance Stroll, Pierre Gasly and Albon.
